Scout & Catalogue [S&C]

I feel like a child at Christmas. I've just discovered Scout & Catalogue. Reasonably priced, even more so on sale items, and it's Mexican spicy.

I am 100% about to cop this scarf+cuff combination. Animal print, neon, black/brown color combinations, camo & pink combo (normally not a fan, not even a little). But I drank her Kool-aid. Enjoy.

Who Doesn't Enjoy a Good Material Recovery?

So yet another Sunday passes me by as I realize I've come crawling back to the visual crack that is Pinterest. After clicking upon a rainbow collage of bright, vintage pillows that caught my eye, I followed them to the pot of gold, Material Recovery's etsy page. Based in San Antonio, TX, this project's focus is revitalizing antique central asian textiles to create fine art furniture - all handmade. As always, I love bold color combinations, and the intricate, vintage embroidery makes me happy to know no one else might have clad their living room in the very same designs (God forbid). The blue chevron lampshade is everything I want to be and more. Not sure about the actual lamp itself, but the shade is utmost of cool (pun?). Now, to mentally prepare for the first full week back at work since the holidays...

Winter Sale

analili

Forgive me for my lack of loyalty posting as of late, as the new year hasn't been particularly forgiving of me as of yet. Today, however, for my outfit, I chose one of my all-time favorite designers to peek out from a part sassy, part simple light grey cardigan - analili - which deserves a few words. Said peeking apparel is a polyester/spandex blend, one-shoulder, asymmetrical drop mini waist with multi-color abstract print (as seen above). No, I did not whore myself into work today. What I like about it is that I can turn it into a top as well, paired with jeans and my sassy/simple cardi. The detailed, intricate design is the focal point of my outfit with very minimal jewelry so as not to distract from it in all its beauty. I happened to pick up this gem from my favorite Wildfire boutique last winter, and I know they love analili, too, and have some items in now as well.

As you can see, magic is at work when lili is. Most of the above dresses are my favorites from her Fall 2011 collection. I'm eagerly awaiting Spring 2012.... Read her inspiring bio here.

Neon, Neon

The only bad thing that's ever happened to neon was John Mayer. Neon hints - shoes, clothing seams, belts - add an electrifying element to any ol' getup. I'd wear any time of year, of any year, as a nod to the jammin' 80s.

Perhaps this year instead of sequin-clad ensemble, go neon for NYE and show your posse how to party. The Man Repeller (above) knows what I'm talking about. besos.

Deborah Lloyd's Kiss of Life

Evidently, creative director of Kate Spade New York, Deborah Lloyd, is bringing her dreams to fruition. By that, I mean, when she took over in 2007, her goal was to expand the brand known primarily for lady's handbags in classic colors and simple, angular styles, by dipping into more vibrant color pallets with added focus on jewelry and apparel. The earring studs above are exemplary aftereffects of Lloyd's vision for her brand work to come, a

"sleeping beauty [that] needed a kiss of life."

I love a good navy and green color combination. Throw in a touch of gold and I'm sold. These earrings ($78) make me think of a boat party for some reason. Matching 3-in-1 Bangle, $248.

Classic pumps, revamped in metallic lizard skin (Metallic Karolina, $298). Stunning, and also very versatile for various occasions. Excellent Winter pick. xx
