Nada SAWAYA

Cuffs are grand. Disclaimer: they must fit my wrist. From afar (by that, I mean, online), I like to think these might fit a wrist such as mine, the size of a small child's, oddly. Above are my favorite Nada SAWAYA picks... clearly black and gold only... but there is a nice color pallette otherwise with a metallic plumb and some other natural, earthy tones. I thought I'd fallen in love with these, until I met... the one (below).

Weekend Pick-ups

Let's start from the left, kids. This weekend I took a little field trip with my folks to Raleigh's North Carolina Museum of Art for the last day of the Rembrandt exhibit. First off, if you haven't been here, you need to go. Two years ago they added a new building that's super trendy. Rembrandt didn't make it over there, likely because of the copious amounts of paintings, videos, etc. that brought in a magnitude of peoples (I was very surprised). After zig-zagging my way through the crowds to catch glimpses of some of my favorites, and skipping the not-so-favorites, my mom must've decided I needed rewarding. Luckily for me, it happened to be one of my favorite accessories - a scarf! This baby is so cheerful and screams of Spring. Made by Cocoon House, $42. Excuse me, $32 online it looks like...

Next, we have a Blue Bird brown leather jacket in the middle that was on sale at Wildflower. The closest thing online I could find like it is this. On the right, I invested in some more Edge of Urge jewelry when I laid eyes on these vibrant blue feather cut-outs. Since they're pretty neon, dare pair them with neutrals only.

PS - Wildflower's Jean Sale ends this week. 30% OFF all denim through Saturday (Jan. 29).

Editor's Picks

Vince Stripe Sweater

Calvin Klein "Feather Weight"

Bernardo Packable Down Vest

Splendid Stripe Column Maxi
Rachel Roy Draped Back Blazer
Citizens of Humanity "Thompson" Crop Skinny Jeans
Cole Haan Air Bandon Flat
Sam Edelman "Baxton" Flat

Never turned down a properly designed striped top for the preppy in me. Never quite been a fan of down vests until they decided to smush 'em down like marshmallows made for smores. I'm desperately looking for and in the market to throw down some serious cash for blazers currently. I'm ALWAYS on the look out for the best white jeans in the market, and would wear them year round it not frowned upon (though I still do pull the out a tad early in April, and push the limits wearing them well into October). And finally, I've done a bit of research for the most comfortable flats being manufactured (back and feet problems at age 25 #help).... and discovered the Maria Sharapova for Cole Haan above as the likely #1 candidate. Can't promise anything for Edelman's, but they caught my eye, as tan/gold combo's tend to do [insert BG: "bling bling"]. xx

So, after this week from you-know-where, I was skeptical that anything might cheer me up. Thank you, Susan and Kathy for creating Merlot & Van Gogh, and bringing me to my idea of heaven - art, wine and friends. This was the first time Ashley, Millie & I ventured to test our inner artists here. Not exactly fashion-focused blogging, but with the right frames, our frogs could add some fun interior decor.

Visit the site and check out the upcoming calendar. Friday nights look fun as well - painting your own wine glasses. They are located downtown -

French Charm Trend

J-Brand Mid-Rise Overdyed Skinny Leg Jeans, coral
Vince Camuto Polka Dot Peasant Blouse
Vince Camuto Ruffle Sleeve
Trouvé Long Sleeve Silk Shirt, plaster
Pardon my being lax on updates this week. Don't ever drive in Wrightsville beach, ever. You might somehow end up having to get your car towed across the country. Just don't.

In other news... NORDSTROM, true to fashion (cough, pun, cough), sparked my intrigue via an e-blast entitled "Key to Parisian Chic: Pastels, Polka Dots and Lace" - which does a great job summing up above pieces. Because I am of French ancestry, I feel like I "get" French Style and whether it's true or not, also feel that I fit best into their cuts (I do happen to be rather tall and lanky). I love the flowy, fit blouses with simple, elegant lines and subtle, yet sexy, colors. Enjoy.

Jonathan Adler

Danner chaise

Bamboo wallpaperChippendale armchair, Ropes wallpaper
Phillipe Ottoman

The Bond Collection

Why is everyone talking about Jonathan Adler? Oh, I get it; he's pretty much The Man. I literally told myself to "stop" perusing, mix-matching color swatches and base swatches about ten times. This makes me believe I'm ready to be a home owner.

Adorable rugs below, and also the new option to design your own - right up my alley, or Adler.

Fluoro Cambridge Bag

source
I know I've just recently blogged about neon, but when I was debating whether or not to share this jewel, the significant other caught a glimpse - "that's sexy" - he says. So, now we know, if we did not before, that I'm a fan of the fluorescent, and so is he. A gal couldn't ask for more.

Shop it here, available in other colors as well. $150 (I had to convert pounds to dollars; you're welcome). Also, bottoms are Asos, blue short suit.

Tibi Spring 2012

WHY haven't I blogged about Tibi yet? I asked myself the same question. Top ten of favorite designer list. This lovely, long, pastel + geometric number further intrigued my existing (drooling) interest in the Spring 2012 Collection. Haven't seen it yet in newest arrivals, but perhaps they got ahead of themselves in releasing this image and it'll be on back-order until it's not and gone (my luck).

(Editor's revision: This just in, per the lovely Sales Associate, Allison Rohde, Gena Chandler (919.881.9480) in Raleigh will be carrying this dress soon. Stay tuned.)

Below are a few recent arrival picks by yours truly.

And, finally, an item in question. I need your help. This is difficult for me to admit because I am all about some animal print everything, so I hate that I'm on the Cheetah Fence here. I just don't know where I'd wear this without feeling like... a cougar. Which makes zero sense seeing as, for me to be considered a cougar, I'd have to be laying moves on a 10 year old. Enough of that mental imagery. Just give me a yes or no, so I can go on about my week. Thanks. xx
