Rooney Mara, Oscar's

Rooney Mara at the Oscar's on Sunday evening was an exquisite sight. I admire the minimalist style - no jewelry, ivory skin w/ little makeup - so that the focus is on her edgy hair and gown, marked by modern lines with white waves of Givenchy elegance. This is probably the opposite of my style, seeing as I swoon for bold accessories, a sun-kissed glow and a less tamed hairstyle - but I respect this. All of it, and her.

Afternoon at Gusto

Whilst downtown yesterday afternoon, doing a little business here and there, I stopped in to check out Gusto's latest arrivals. I had an always pleasurable conversation with the two bubbly owners/managers, and I learned that mannequins are not only super expensive, but they come in a wide variety of... well, nevermind. For another conversation. Anyway, majority of above picks are Drew or Blaque Label, and a mixture of Spring anticipation, as well as a few wintry tops. What I did go in for the kill on, was the last photo - French Curve tights. I'm already planning when I will wear them, and they will most certainly add the pop of texture that I appreciate. Happy hump day. xx

Sylvia Benson

Forgot to post about this a couple of weeks ago when I picked up these babies from Monkee's at Reynolda Village. Not positive that they still have the beautiful spread that they had when I was there recently, but take my advice and go check it out. With my purchase of the black and gold earrings on the left ($68), I was given the gold studs as a gift. Also, I must mention, the sales ladies are absolutely adorable and super helpful.

Tibi & The Presidents

A nod at President's Day via Tibi for you. I am a huge fan of geometric patterns this Spring and adore the precious blouse at the top. I believe it comes in another color as well (green) but the light pink adds a feminine touch to the shapes. I want #2 and $4 (in order of, above) for work, both sleek and elegant at the same time. The shift dress is a chic cream, with the studs on the sleeves that add the flair I always look for in an outfit.

Hope everyone else enjoyed the lovely snow flakes yesterday and this morning ! Go Obama.

DVF Spring Color

I love everything about this - the mint, the neutrals (grey & nude), the animal print clutch and the perfectly sized white belt.

French Charm Trend, Take Two

I just can't keep my eyes off of the frenchies. Now, let's take it from the top. Echo's 'Equestrian Status' Square Scarf - mix equestrian and scarf and I'm all in (and the fact that it's only $38 doesn't hurt). Kate Spade New York 'Gold Coast' Shoulder bag - classic. Period. I'm all about the classic styles, but of course paired with something bold and fun. This Nordstrom Stripe Straw Hat is along the lines of what I'm in the market for this summer... stripes are fun, but I'd like to find a good plain black or white one as well. Aaaand, of course, an item with some sort of animal print/skin (snake, in this particular case) - Vintage Reign Suede Foldover Clutch.

I vow to keep up with my posts more! Tomorrow's Friday! Cheers, xx
