Classy Glassy

Perusing one of my favorite blogs, coco+kelley, I fell in love with the above lamps. Light blue hand blown Murano glass table lamps by Joe Cariati.

Also digging the 3 Ball which are sold out unfortunately. I think glass lamps are my favorite kind - they seem to make the most of illumination. Lighter colors or clear up the ante another notch. Beautiful blues by Cariati (based in LA).

Love the red as well. I actually love the color combination of this red and light blue but wouldn't put those lamps all in one room - just accent other furniture pieces in the room with the opposite color. There are a lot of talented glass blowers right here in NC as well...

This functional artwork by Katherine Bernstein is showcased at Piedmont Craftmen's right here in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem's art district. My mom has begun her own collection - my favorite glasses to sip vino in at home! So fun. Also available in cups, vases, pitchers, plates and more.

Must Have Now

Do yourselves all a favor and go buy these jeans immediately: Hudson Ferris Flap Pocket Flare, Soho $198. While their site describes them as "a sexy silhouette with a neo-bohemian edge," I'd call them the best-fitting, softest pair of jeans I've ever owned. That combo being said, that's all you should need to know. Pair with your highest wedges.

You might also pick yourself up a Love Quotes Scarf. I have an orange one, but I've got my eye on brown and I'm betting it won't stop there... Scarves are my favorite accessory. ShopBop has a few.

AND, thirdly, what I needed today: rain boots. I somehow lost my Tory Burch boots from last year, which is okay with me because they were a little loud (the emblem) anyway. I guess I will just have to jump on the bandwagon and get a pair of the popular Hunter boots. This color goes with anything - these are listed on Bergdorf's for $125 but I've seen them cheaper elsewhere (usually around $115)...

Feather Weather

So I know we've all seen the feather craze blow through salons and boutiques everywhere, sparking the Bohemian interest in us gals, and leaving the male population scratching their heads. Being a regular shopper at Wildflower Boutique, I've been notified of an upcoming trunk show and feather bar event:

On November 12, 2011, Edge of Urge, based in Wilmington, NC, is bringing their Feather Bar for all to create their own jewelry. After a site exploratory, I don't hate 'em... I love the entire handmade jewelry collection and the print jeggings (photo above). Edgy style may not be for all, but adding a feather accent or fun prints paired with neutral colors is the perfect balance for a fun evening outfit.

Personally, I may need to craft myself a dream catcher -- been having the most vivid dreams lately! For more information, visit Wildflower's Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Skouras at High Point Furniture Market

If my blog name isn't conspicuous enough, hear me now: I fancy chandeliers (and all things tufted but we'll revisit that later). This one I came across on a new website called Pinterest (visual crack). After doing some digging, I discovered the maker of this vibrant turquoise piece, Marjorie Skouras, is actually launching her line for Currey & Company at The High Point Furniture Market going on THIS VERY WEEK. Just 20 minutes from me. What does it all mean? Fate? Perhaps.

Holiday Sneak Peak

Another jewel I found at bevello while last minute searching for something to wear to an engagement party this weekend was this elegant yet sassy cocktail dress by Max & Cleo. Ivory can be a year-round color, but with the gold giraffe print over top the chic lines, it whispers "holidays" to me. Max & Cleo are definitely my go-to for holiday cheer - they have similar dresses in other festive colors (a fabulous green, to name) - visit Nordstrom for online perusing. Cheers for Friday and holidays around the corner!

A Fresh Canvas

I’ve dabbled in blogging a couple of times, but I’ve decided to reinvent my blog with the intent to hone in on my personal taste and interests.

On the horizon, I envisage many a recipe involving ingredients such as avocados, pesto, nuts and cheese ("healthy food" per me, "hippie food" per my sig. other)... more than likely elegant, simple clothing and bold jewelry... wine selections (perhaps on occasion paired with ever-entertaining stories that tend to ensue)... musical musings... probably over the top interior design and architecture... and whatever else I may pick up in my self discovery.

A couple of dear friends also contributed to my inspiration. If you know what’s good for you, follow their blogs as well: The Change Factory and Southern Arrondissement. Both aim to shed light on things that inspire them and their respective designers in the area (or their own designs). This will also be part of my focus. And let's be serious, we were all inspired by the Fashion Blog Bible.

I hope to keep things short and sweet (or sassy) overall, but since this is my very first, I’ll at least need to leave you with my latest obsession (below): BB Dakota Faux Fur Vest. A real deal that I scooped up at bevello here in Winston-Salem, perfect for fall. I'll probably be traipsing all around town in it. There may be 2 left...
